The Challenge

Develop a science fair project about juvenile fish populations and the juvenile fish community using data collected during the MSE. Projects using data from other Kuskokwim Area fisheries monitoring projects(e.g., weirs, harvest data, tagging studies, or climatological data) are all welcome and eligible for cash awards.Students in grades 7-12 are required to complete both a report written in scientific format (i.e., introduction, methods, results, discussion_ and a poster summarizing that report. Students in grades 5 & 6 are only required to complete a poster.

The Prize

Up to $2,500 is available for competitive cash prize awards. Individual awards will range from $50 to$500. Final number and amounts of individual awards is dependent on the number of Challenge participants and quality of projects. Selected projects may also be sponsored to compete in the Alaska Science & EngineeringFair that will be held in Anchorage.

Who is Eligible to Participate

All students from schools participating in attendance during the float trip. Team entries are welcome.
